It contains an azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction CuAAc with molecules containing alkyne groups. It can also undergo ring strain-driven alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction SPAAC with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
