Description

The reagent is available as a white crystalline solid which is slightly soluble in water and ethyl ether, however soluble in ethanol. It has a melting point of 165 -169 C where it decomposes to it emits very toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides. Additional applications involve the production of flame retardant resins, and vulcanization accelerators. Acetyl thiourea chitosan polymer (ATUCS) has been manufactured and evaluated as a corrosion inhibitor.
