Ammonium sulphide yellow by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as diammonium sulphide, this compound is an unstable salt. This reagent is available as a yellow powder which is soluble in water, alcohol and very soluble in liquid ammonia. It decomposes at ambient temperatures. Solutions of ammonium sulphide are hazardous, considered as labile sources of toxic hydrogen sulphide. These compounds are used occasionally to apply patina to bronze, in photographic developing and in textile manufacturing. It may be used to enhance the performance of type-II InAs/GaSb super lattice photodiodes by surface passivation technique. It can additionally be used as a selective reducing agent (cf Clonitazene). Furthermore, the reaction of ammonium sulphide with 3-hydroxy-2-butanone over a range of temperatures has reported to form various flavour compounds. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
