Anticancer agent 255 can induce mitochondria-mediated apoptosis in cancer cells and prevent cell cycle progression. Anticancer agent 255 down-regulated the cell proliferation marker PCNA and inhibited the activation of cell survival proteins. Anticancer agent 255 up-regulated the pro-apoptotic protein Bax and down-regulated the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2.
