Description
The ATG4A/B Stable Double Knockout HeLa Cell Line is engineered to lack both ATG4A and ATG4B genes, critical enzymes in the autophagic process. Through the use of CRISPR-Cas9, this cell line demonstrates a compounded impairment in autophagy, with drastically reduced processing of both LC3 and GABA type A receptor-associated protein-like 1 GABARAPL1 , although some residual autophagic activity remains due to the presence of ATG4C and ATG4D. The dual knockout nature of this cell line makes it a powerful model for studying the functional redundancy among ATG4 isoforms and the specific contributions of ATG4A and ATG4B to cellular homeostasis, autophagosome formation, and protein turnover.
