Fluorescence emission spectra of R-Phycoerythrin and PE-Cy5. Excitation is at 488 nm and the emission spectra are normalized to the absorbance of both dyes at 488 nm. PE-Cy5 has a peak emission spectrum at 669 nm where there is little overlap with the R-PE spectrum. This reduces compensation required to less than 10 %.
