Description

Biuret reagent by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This reagent solution is a preparation of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrated copper(II) sulphate, together with potassium sodium tartrate. Potassium sodium tartrate is added to chelate and hence stabilize the cupric ions. The reagent is available as a blue coloured solution. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. The bicinchoninic acid (BCA) assay and the Lowry assay are two modifications of the biuret test where a deeper colour is formed. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
