Description

c-Kit or stem cell factor SCF receptor is a type III tyrosine kinase receptor that has a major role in the hematopoietic system. The c-Kit wild-type-expressing Ba/F3 cells with GNNK+ isoform are ideal in studies in relation to c-Kit function, signaling pathways, and biological activities. The GNNK+ isoform is the outcome of the c-Kit gene alternative splicing sites resulting in different isoforms of the tetrapeptide GNNK. It will proliferate in the presence of the ligand SCF, and activate downstream signal transductions. When compared to GNNK- isoforms Cat. No. T3041 , these cells have a slower rate of SCF degradation as the Src inhibitor SU6656 SUGEN exerts a weak effect.
