Description
Cells were derived from the recurrent CWR22 xenograft in nude mice. CWR-R1 cells have a functional androgen receptor AR that has a single mutation AR-H874Y that broadens the ligand specificity and is activated at low concentrations of testosterone or dihydrotestosterone DHT . The CWR-R1 cell line is a co-culture of epithelial cells and stromal fibroblasts that grow as a monolayer.
