Deoxyribonuclease I by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also called as DNase I, this enzyme is an endonuclease which is encoded by the human gene, DNASE1. It is stored in the zymogen granules of the nuclear envelope and acts by cleaving DNA in an endonucleolytic fashion. While DNase I does not cleave with absolute sequence specificity, it is less efficient for sites which contain C or G at their 3' end. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. DNase I cleaves DNA favourably at phosphodiester linkages that are adjacent to a pyrimidine nucleotide, resulting in a 5'-phosphate-terminated polynucleotide with a free hydroxyl group on position 3. It has a role as a waste-management endonuclease and may additionally be responsible for DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. DNase I enzyme is employed in various molecular biology studies.
