Drabkins solution by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This reagent solution is used for the determination of haemoglobin concentration in blood. The reagent is available as a liquid solution. It reacts with all forms of hemoglobin except sulfhemoglobin, which is a pigment that normally occurs in only tiny concentrations in the blood. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Cyanmethemoglobin, which is formed from methemoglobin reacting with potassium cyanide, has maximum absorbance at 540 nm.
