Galectin-3-IN-6

Description

Galectin-3-IN-6 Compound 12 is an orally active inhibitor of galectin-3 Gal-3 , with an IC50 value of 12 nM and a Kd value of 13 nM for Gal-3. In a mouse model of acute liver injury and fibrosis induced by CCl4, Galectin-3-IN-6 can significantly reduce the levels of fibrosis markers collagen-1 and ?-smooth muscle actin ?SMA by 64 % and 71 %, respectively, showing significant anti-fibrotic activity. Galectin-3-IN-6 can be used in the research of fibrotic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.
