Geranic acid is a monoterpenemainly used in flavor, fragrance, cosmetics and agro-industries. In vitro studies show that geranic acid exhibits strong inhibitory activity against Fusarium graminearum and Colletotrichum graminicola, the two main fungal pathogens of maize. It also exhibits antitumor activity.
