Human Primary Alveolar Epithelial Cells - Type II

Description

Human Primary Alveolar Epithelial Cells Type II are charazterized by small size, cubiodal, alveolar space. These cells have a large and round nucleus with vacuoles present in the cytoplasm. Lectin is present on the cell surface and will react with a-galactose residues. Adjacent cells are connected by tight junctions or intermediate connections. Within the cytoplasm, there is a higher frequency of mitochondria and rough ER. This cell line is a stem cell line of alveolar epithelial cells and can multiply and differentiate into new ATII cells, as well as other upper cells.
