Description
This cell line was immortalized via serial passaging and viral introduction of plasmid DNA encoding wild-type SV40. It has been shown to respond to parathyroid hormone PTH and parathyroid hormone-related protein PTHrP , and is capable of stimulating mineral nodule formation, making it a valuable tool for studying the mechanisms regulating cementum and other mineralized tissues, biomineralization, and the effects of the PTH-1 receptor.
