Description
The Immortalized PCK Cholangiocyte Cell Line PCK CCL is a well-characterized epithelial cell model derived from the liver of the PCK rat, a widely used animal model of Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease ARPKD . These cells retain key cholangiocyte features, including biliary epithelial morphology, polarization, and cyst-forming ability in 3D culture, making them an essential tool for studying cystogenesis and biliary pathophysiology. Developed and characterized by Muff et al. 2006 , the PCK CCL line exhibits abnormal cellular proliferation and fluid secretion properties reflective of ARPKD pathology, while maintaining markers consistent with differentiated cholangiocytes. These cells have been immortalized to ensure long-term in vitro utility and reproducibility across experiments.
