Mezilamine is a potent antidopaminergic agent. Mezilamine induces a concentration dependent increase in the electrically stimulated overflow of 3H-noradrenaline from rat cortical slices, without affecting the basal overflow. Mezilamine acts as a presynaptic ?-adrenoceptor antagonist and a postsynaptic ?-adrenoceptor agonist.
