Description
High-grade microcrystalline wax is supplied by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries. It consists of high molecular weight saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons. Microcrystalline wax is generally darker, more viscous, denser, tackier and more elastic and has a higher molecular weight and melting point in comparison to paraffin wax. They are insoluble in water and act as efficient barriers against water vapour. Microcrystalline waxes are chemically almost inert and very stable. They also have excellent electrical properties The colour of microcrystalline wax varies from colourless to yellow. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in benzene, chloroform, ether, carbon disulphide and oils. It has a melting point in the range of 38-60C. Microcrystalline waxes can generally be categorized as: "laminating" grade and "hardening" grade. The laminating grades have a melting point of 60 - 80C and needle penetration of 25 or above whereas the hardening grades have melting point in the range of 80 - 93C and have a needle penetration less than 25. CAS No. 63231-60-7 Quantity provided: 500 gm/bottleMicrocrystalline waxes have widespread application ranging from tire and rubber industries, cosmetics, jewellery, sculpture making industries, adhesives and textile industries. Microcrystalline wax is also a key component in the manufacture of petrolatum. The branched structure of the carbon chain backbone allows oil molecules to be incorporated into the crystal lattice structure. Petrolatum is a key component of various industries like candle and cosmetic industries.
