Description
Primary Normal Human Kidney Proximal Tubule NhKPT cells are isolated by positive magnetic selection from a heterogeneous population of cells taken from the cortical part of the kidney after cortex digestion. NhKPT cells are an integral part of the nephron. The proximal tubule regulates the pH of the filtrate by exchanging hydrogen ions for bicarbonate ions, and it is responsible for secreting organic acids, such as creatinine and other bases, into the filtrate. Primary NhKPT cells have been used to research function and pathophysiology of the kidney, toxicity, ion channels, kidney disease progression and more.
