Description
p-Xylene by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as 1,4-dimethylbenzene, this aromatic hydrocarbon is one of the three isomers of dimethylbenzene. This reagent is available as a colourless liquid which is insoluble in water. It has a melting point of 13.2 C, and a boiling point of 138.3C. para-Xylene can be generated by catalytic reforming of petroleum naphtha as part of the BTX aromatics, extracted from the catalytic reformate. The compound is stable under general conditions, however, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. CAS No.: 106-42-3 Quantity Provided: 500 ml per bottle Molecular formula: C8H10 Molecular weight: 106.17 Assay: 99 %p-Xylene has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. It is majorly used to produce terephthalic acid for polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate. Para-Xylene is additionally an important chemical feedstock. Furthermore, parylene may be produced by directly polymerising p-xylene. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
