PNPP (p-Nitrophenyl Phosphate, Disodium Sal) is a widely used substrate for detecting alkaline phosphatase in ELISA applications. When alkaline phosphatase and PNPP are reacted, a yellow water-soluble reaction product is formed. This reaction product absorbs light at 405 nm.
