Description
Sodium picrate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This is a sodium salt of picric acid. The reagent is available as a power. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. CAS No.: 73771-13-8 Quantity Provided: 25 gm per bottle Molecular formula: (NO2)3C6H2ONaH2O Molecular weight: 269.10Sodium picrate has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent finds applications in the organic synthesis of various derivative compounds. Sodium picrate is utilized as an etchant in metallography to differ pre-eutectoid ferrite in hypo-eutectoid steel from pre-eutectoid cementite in hypereutectoid steel by etching cementite to a dark colour, whereas not attacking ferrite and thus it remains reflective. Many picrates are used as explosives. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
