TBPB tert-butyl peroxybenzoate is a highly selective, blood-brain-permeable M1 mAChR allosteric agonist EC50=289 nM with anti-schizophrenia and anti-inflammatory activities. TBPB can enhance the sensitivity of M1 receptors to acetylcholine, activate downstream signaling pathways, and inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-?, IL-6 .
