Cultivate aerobes and anaerobes using Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Thioglycollate Medium w/Dextrose. This general-purpose medium was first described by Brewer in 19401 and consists of a small amount of agar and sodium thioglycolate, a reducing substance, to initiate the growth of anaerobes.
