TrkA Stable T17 Cell Line expresses rat TrkA Tropomyosin receptor kinase A after TrkA plasmid was successfully transfected into SN56 cells and were selected in the presence of G418. TrkA is the receptor for neurotrophins, such as nerve growth factor NGF , which plays essential role in the nervous system in particular apoptotic cell death prevention, and/or the promotion of cellular differentiation and axon elongation in neurons. Researchers may use the TrkA Stable T17 Cell Line to screen for NGF-like compounds that would act as TrkA agonists to study the mechanisms of the signaling pathways and affects NGF.
