WBC diluting fluid by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This reagent solution is a preparation of glacial acetic acid and 1% gentian violet in distilled water. The glacial acetic acid lyses RBCs whereas the gentian violet stains the nuclei of the leukocytes. This fluid is used in the WBC counting process where the number of leukocytes are enumerated via microscopic examination. This fluid is available as a clear, purple coloured solution. For best performance, it is advised that this solution be stored under 30 C and be used before expiry. This fluid solution is used to estimate the WBC count in blood samples. The specimen is diluted to 1:20 in a WBC pipette using the diluting fluid and the cells are enumerated under low power of a microscope by using a counting chamber, generally a haemocytometer. A high number of leukocytes or leucocytosis indicates infections, whereas leukopenia or a low count is another abnormal condition. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
