Winklers solution A by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This reagent solution is a solution of manganese sulphate. It is used in the winklers titration method to estimate the dissolved oxygen content of water samples. It reacts with alkaline iodide to produce an oxygen-manganese complex which is dissolved by acid to liberate free iodine. The free iodine content is proportional to the amount of oxygen present. While this reagent is stable under general conditions, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
