X-alpha-Gal

Description

X-alpha-Gal is a chromogenic substrate used to detect alpha-galactosidase activity. In yeast, alpha-galactosidase is a secreted reporter that is expressed from the MEL1 gene in response to GAL4 activation. alpha-galactosidase accumulates in the media and hydrolyses X-alpha-Gal causing yeast colonies to turn blue. X-alpha-Gal can be used with MatchmakerGAL4-based products to confirm protein interactions. Our products are to be used forResearch Use Only.
